about NBN coverage

NBN coverage depends on your address and which technology type nbn co has installed there. the main types are:

  • FTTP (fibre to the premises) — fibre directly to your home. supports all speed tiers including nbn 1000.
  • FTTC (fibre to the curb) — fibre to the pit outside your property, copper for the last few metres. supports up to nbn 250.
  • FTTN (fibre to the node) — fibre to a street cabinet, copper to your home. max speeds depend on distance from the node.
  • HFC (hybrid fibre-coaxial) — cable infrastructure. supports up to nbn 1000 on most connections.
  • Fixed Wireless — radio signal from a tower. available in regional areas. limited to nbn 25 and nbn 50.

sprfst services residential addresses on all NBN technology types except satellite (Sky Muster). if your address shows satellite, we can't connect you at this time.

connection timeframes

most connections are active within 1–3 business days of your chosen start date. new infrastructure connections (where no NBN is currently active at your address) can take 5–10 business days and may require an nbn co technician visit.
